About The Position

Kyndryl is hiring a hands-on, client-facing Modernization Architect for its Global Modernization Center of Excellence. The role turns complex enterprise application modernization and agentic AI opportunities into clear architectures, implementation roadmaps, and working demos, pilots, MVPs, and reference implementations. The architect remains involved from opportunity scoping and solution design through delivery, advising senior client leaders and guiding teams toward measurable business outcomes. The position covers modernization across public and private cloud, applications, infrastructure, agentic software development life cycles, and platform engineering. The architect collaborates with sales, consulting, legal, delivery, engineering, and specialist teams, and contributes to technical proposals, estimates, statements of work, and client engagements. The role requires deep expertise in at least one of five areas: public cloud applications, edge and software-defined networks, mainframe modernization, cloud platform engineering, or private cloud. Global travel of at least 25% is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in solution architecture, software engineering, or technical consulting focused on application architecture and modernization.
  • Deep expertise in at least one specialization: public cloud applications, edge and software-defined networks, mainframe modernization, cloud platform engineering, or private cloud.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience delivering production-grade agentic AI applications.
  • Advanced expertise with open-source agentic frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent.
  • Deep Python proficiency.
  • Experience integrating AI agents with enterprise systems, including CRMs, ERPs, APIs, and data lakes.
  • Experience with vector databases, embedding pipelines, and practical RAG architectures.
  • Strong client-facing advisory, pre-sales, live-demo, and technical storytelling skills for engineering and executive audiences.
  • Working knowledge of responsible AI, data privacy requirements, and enterprise security standards, applied across pursuit and delivery.
  • Global travel availability of at least 25%.

  • Design cloud-native and AI-native target architectures using microservices, APIs, containers, and cloud-native patterns to modernize legacy and monolithic applications.
  • Define modernization solutions spanning application, infrastructure, agentic SDLC, and platform engineering expertise across public and private cloud.
  • Build agentic proofs of concept, pilots, MVPs, and reference implementations that demonstrate business value.
  • Own technical solution definition, including scope, PoC framing, assumptions, dependencies, and baselines.
  • Estimate effort, cost, risk, timeline, and team composition using Kyndryl’s solution calculator and related tools.
  • Develop statements of work, RFP responses, and technical proposal content, and contribute to commercial inputs.
