About The Position

Cox Automotive is hiring Mobile Inspectors at Level 1, Level 2, and Senior levels to conduct on-site vehicle condition inspections for dealer clients within an assigned territory. This is a remote position with an assigned territory, and candidates must reside within a 10-mile radius of Inglewood, California. The role involves frequent travel to dealer locations and may be performed remotely part of the week when not conducting field inspections. Mobile Inspectors document vehicle condition accurately, thoroughly, and promptly according to Manheim inspection standards, supporting client trust, marketplace transparency, and inventory flow. They build strong relationships with dealer clients, represent the Cox Automotive brand, and engage dealers to encourage participation in Manheim’s mobile inspection services. The role requires working with minimal supervision, with independence and judgment increasing according to level. The role is available at multiple levels, with placement based on experience, qualifications, and business needs. Compensation varies by level and location. The posting gives an hourly base-pay range of $18.17–$27.21 and separately lists ranges for Level 1 ($16.63–$27.21), Level 2 ($18.22–$29.81), and Senior Level ($20.00–$32.79). The position may also be eligible for commission or incentive compensation. A monthly performance incentive is based on inspection volume; inspectors meeting target production can earn approximately $750 per month, and top performers can earn $1,000 or more per month. Incentives are guaranteed during the first three full months under the stated schedule, and reimbursement is provided for business use of a personal vehicle. Level 1 is an entry-level role focused on inspections under established processes while learning Manheim standards, tools, and client engagement. Level 2 independently manages assigned inspection work, conducts detailed inspections, and supports territory growth. The Senior level handles advanced inspections, mentors peers, and serves as a trusted resource on inspection standards. Employment requires passing a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently test for marijuana as part of this pre-employment test, but prohibits possession or use of, or being under the influence of, drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property, or in company vehicles. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship; OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, and visa sponsorship are not available.
