About The Position

The Mobile Tubing Inspector Assistant is an entry-level position that supports tubing inspection and testing operations at well locations and other customer locations. Training will be provided to qualified candidates; prior experience in oilfield work, mechanical work, tubing inspection, or NDT is preferred but not required. This position works alongside a Mobile Tubing Inspector and assists with the inspection, testing, movement, and preparation of tubing while following established procedures and all company and customer safety requirements. The successful candidate should be dependable, willing to learn, comfortable working outdoors and in physically demanding conditions, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior oilfield, mechanical, tubing inspection, NDT, or similar hands-on experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge or familiarity with oilfield operations is helpful.
  • Safeland or PEC certification preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel preferred.
  • NDT certifications are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Mobile Tubing Inspector with rig floor electromagnetic inspection of tubing as it is pulled from the well during workover operations.
  • Learn and assist with detecting tubing flaws using EMI technology and visual inspection methods.
  • Assist with preparing tubing and equipment for inspection.
  • Assist with safely directing and moving tubing into position for inspection and laydown. Tubing may weigh approximately 200 lbs.
  • Perform physical labor associated with tubing inspection and field operations.
  • Learn and follow proper inspection procedures, equipment operation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by picking up tools, equipment, and materials and securing the job site.
  • Report safety concerns, equipment issues, incidents, or other problems to the Mobile Tubing Inspector and/or Safety Manager.
  • Clean inspection trucks and tools and restock supplies as needed.
  • Assist with required before-, during-, and after-operation equipment checks and basic user maintenance.
  • Wear required FRC uniforms and other PPE while on well locations.
  • Maintain a clean-shaven appearance when required for respirator or other safety purposes.
  • Must be able to pass required J1 and J2 vision exams.
  • Understand and exercise a worker's right to stop work when they believe their own or another person's safety is at risk.
  • Attend required training and work toward developing the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the position independently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
