About The Position

AITX Repair Services is seeking a Mobile Railcar Repair Technician to perform railcar repair and maintenance. The role involves reading and understanding blueprints, making repairs in compliance with FRA and AAR rules, and maintaining accurate repair records. Technicians must follow company guidelines, quality assurance requirements, and safety rules while performing their duties. Requirements

Ability to read and write English at a high school level.
Ability to work in heat, cold, and all-weather conditions.
Comfort working around heavy equipment, on top of and under railcars, and around railroad tracks.
Knowledge of machines and tools required for welding, cutting, and gouging.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions, including basic blueprints and schematics.
Basic mechanical skills and ability to read a tape measure.
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Valid driver's license in good standing and ability to drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs using hand and power tools and MIG, flux-core, and stick welding.
Interpret job work orders to determine required repairs.
Coordinate and complete repairs efficiently and within assigned hours.
Follow safety rules, maintain a clean work area, and comply with AITX EHS policies.
Ensure AAR, ARS, and customer quality assurance standards are met.
Read and understand blueprints and maintain good repair records.
Perform railcar repairs in compliance with FRA and AAR rules.
