About The Position

This role is for someone who believes a girl's ZIP code should never limit her exploration and enjoys bringing bold ideas to life through hands-on learning, community partnership, and a dynamic approach. As the Mobile Program Coordinator, you will build a new program from the ground up, delivering memorable Girl Scout experiences to girls and communities across Oregon and Southwest Washington. The position involves significant travel, program development, and community engagement.

Requirements

  • At least seven years of combined relevant education and experience in youth program delivery, curriculum development, teaching, community programming, or a related area. For example, a bachelor's degree and five years of experience, or seven years of experience.
  • Experience creating and leading youth programs, with the judgment to adjust an activity when a group, age level, setting, or community calls for a different approach.
  • High proficiency in English and Spanish, including creating and leading programming in both languages and communicating with Spanish-speaking families.
  • A track record of building trust with schools, community organizations, families, and people whose experiences may differ from your own.
  • Warm, clear communication and facilitation skills that help youth, families, volunteers, colleagues, and partners know what to expect and feel welcome participating.
  • Strong project management skills, including keeping deadlines, budgets, supplies, travel details, and multiple partners moving toward a shared launch or event.
  • Comfort turning attendance, feedback, and other program data into useful decisions, compelling updates, and accurate grant reports.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft 365 skills, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel, plus comfort learning project management and customer relationship management platforms.
  • A valid driver's license in good standing and a driving record that meets our motor vehicle records standards, plus state-required minimum auto insurance if a personal vehicle is used.
  • Comfort driving and parking a large non-commercial vehicle, such as a cargo van, and traveling up to 70% of work time, including evenings, weekends, rural routes, and overnight trips during peak seasons.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering mobile or community-based programs.
  • Experience measuring, tracking, and reporting outcomes for grant-funded programs.
  • Experience facilitating learning for adults.

Responsibilities

  • Listen to girls, families, schools, and community organizations, then turn what you learn into a clear route map for where the mobile program goes and what it offers.
  • Create hands-on, age-appropriate experiences for girls in grades K-12, bringing STEM, life skills, outdoor learning, and entrepreneurship together in programming that works in both English and Spanish.
  • Transform a large non-commercial vehicle into an inviting, organized, and safe mobile learning space, and guide the program from a summer 2027 soft launch to a full October 2027 rollout.
  • Bring the experience to life from arrival through pack-up, delivering 18 visits in FY27 and at least 35 visits annually in FY28 and FY29; about 90% of sessions will be for youth and 10% for adult volunteers.
  • Build relationships that open doors for girls, working with schools, community organizations, peer Girl Scout councils, and colleagues to find host sites, introduce the program, and keep it relevant locally.
  • Keep the program moving smoothly across a large, varied service area by driving and parking the vehicle, transporting equipment, coordinating visits and registration, and keeping supplies ready for the next stop.
  • Use budgets, grant commitments, translation and interpretation services, and participant feedback to strengthen the program and show what it is accomplishing for girls and communities.
