About The Position

Asset Risk Inc. is seeking a part-time, as-needed contractor Phlebotomist to conduct mobile blood-draw visits at patients’ homes across the Southern Tier of New York and northern Pennsylvania border area around Hornell. Service locations include Erin, Elmira, and Corning, NY, and Coudersport, Shinglehouse, and Sabinsville, PA. Patients have their own kits. The work requires reliable transportation, and no centrifuging is needed; samples are collected and sent for testing. Compensation is $30–$40 per successful blood draw, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy Technician.
• Reliable transportation.
• Smartphone.
• Knowledge of best practices in patient identification methods.
• Familiarity with legal requirements regarding blood draws and fluid samples.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize sample-collection requests based on urgency.
• Collect patients’ personal information.
• Determine the appropriate venipuncture method for each patient.
• Reassure patients during the collection process.
• Use sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment to draw blood.
• Correctly label samples and send them for testing.
• Never send needles back with any blood draw.
