About The Position
Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking a Mobile Medical Equipment Technician to join its Clinical Engineering team. Clinical Engineering provides operational support and maintenance management for diagnostic, treatment, and patient-support technologies. Its service areas include planned and corrective medical equipment maintenance, operational support for functions using medical technology, support for Risk Management and Environmental Health and Safety, technology asset management and acquisition/disposal, maintenance contract management, and capital project planning and management. The posting’s role description identifies central sterile processing duties: decontaminating, preparing, sterilizing, and distributing medical equipment according to specified standards across assigned medical facilities. The technician maintains and controls assigned equipment, remedies equipment or process failures and hazards, and keeps complete records. The position is safety-sensitive, requiring work in a consistently alert and safe manner. The schedule is evenings, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Thursday through Monday.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- No prior experience required.
- No supervisor experience required.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

- Less than two years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Follow proper techniques and procedures to ensure the integrity of the sterilization process.
- Perform medical equipment decontamination according to designated-area procedures and specified standards.
- Remedy equipment and process failures.
- Maintain and control records in central software.
- Maintain and control assigned equipment.
