About The Position
Hillman is seeking a Mobile Locksmith Technician to join its Automotive Key Services team in Nashville, Tennessee. The technician operates a fully equipped mobile service van and provides automotive key cutting, duplication, programming, key fob, and locksmith services directly at customer locations. Working alongside an Automotive Mobile Sales Representative, the technician serves as the technical expert and helps deliver a seamless, customer-focused experience. The role combines automotive technology, independent field work, customer interaction, and problem-solving. Technicians maintain the van, inventory, supplies, and equipment; coordinate appointments and daily service activities; and represent Hillman professionally while helping customers resolve automotive key needs. The position offers $25 per hour plus 5% commission on sales, a company-provided service van, and a fuel card for business use. Typical hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Schedule options are Thursday through Monday or Friday through Tuesday. Weekend availability is required, as is travel to one store location per day within a 50-mile radius. The role requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate a motor vehicle.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a locksmith license where required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic computer, email, and mobile technology proficiency.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to work in a mobile, field-based environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends and varying schedules as business needs require.
