Mobile Locksmith Technician
About The Position
Hillman is seeking a Mobile Locksmith Technician to join its Automotive Key Services team in Sacramento, California. The technician operates a fully equipped mobile service van and provides automotive key cutting, duplication, programming, and locksmith services at customer locations. Working alongside an Automotive Mobile Sales Representative, the technician serves as the field technical expert, diagnoses customer needs, recommends solutions, and delivers a positive customer experience. The role combines automotive technology, independent field work, customer interaction, and opportunities to develop technical skills and advance within a growing organization. The technician manages the mobile workspace, including maintaining the van, inventory, supplies, and equipment; coordinating appointments and daily service activities; and keeping the van organized and customer-ready. The position involves travel to one store location per day within a 50-mile radius. Typical hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with schedule options of Thursday through Monday or Friday through Tuesday. Weekend availability is required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a locksmith license where required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic computer, email, and mobile technology proficiency.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to work in a mobile, field-based environment.
- Ability to work weekends and varying schedules as business needs require.

Responsibilities
