About The Position

The Mobile Heavy Duty Diesel Technician is a field-based role supporting heavy-duty diesel customers across Texas and the Southern United States. The technician dispatches from home to customer locations in a fully equipped, take-home company service truck, working independently to diagnose and repair equipment. Travel primarily covers Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas, with occasional travel elsewhere in the Southern United States based on customer needs. Overnight travel is required as needed. Compensation is $30.00–$50.00+ per hour, with higher compensation available for exceptional technicians. Hourly or flat-rate pay options are available; flat-rate technicians receive a guaranteed minimum of 35 paid hours per week. Field work includes a $2.00-per-hour road premium, and overnight travel includes $185 per diem per day without receipts.

Requirements

Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills.
Ability to complete repairs independently in the field.
Willingness to travel and respond to customer service needs, including overnight travel.
Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Five or more years of heavy-duty diesel repair experience preferred.
Own tools preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks at customer locations.
Respond to emergency roadside service calls.
Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
Troubleshoot and repair engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, steering, suspension, and drivetrains.
Maintain an organized service truck and manage parts and supply inventory.
Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs and service needs.
