About The Position

Dahl Automotive is hiring a Heavy Duty Diesel Technician at Dahl Ford Truck La Crosse in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The technician will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on various makes and models of heavy-duty vehicles. The primary focus is Ford commercial vehicles, though the location services all heavy-duty brands. This is a full-time, hourly position with first-shift hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Previous automotive technician experience.
Previous heavy-duty vehicle experience.
Broad knowledge of vehicle technologies.

Ability to collaborate effectively.
Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications.
Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so customers are informed about additional services needed.
Estimate the time needed for additional repairs.
Perform warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
