About The Position

The Mobile Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on commercial trucks and related equipment at customer locations. This position delivers exceptional customer service while providing efficient and high-quality repair solutions in the field. The Mobile Technician operates a company service vehicle, responds to scheduled and emergency service calls, and works independently to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues while maintaining compliance with safety standards, company policies, and manufacturer guidelines. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused mindset. This role requires the ability to work independently, manage service schedules effectively, and represent the company professionally while building positive customer relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of fleet, diesel, heavy-duty truck, or dealership mechanic experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to maintain insurability under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
  • Possess and maintain a professional-grade set of tools necessary to perform assigned duties.
  • Strong customer service skills and commitment to teamwork.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a mobile service environment.
  • Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment screenings, including drug screening and background requirements, consistent with applicable laws.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certifications preferred.
  • CDL preferred or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical service, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to commercial vehicles and equipment in the field.
  • Read work orders, inspect vehicles and equipment, observe performance, and diagnose malfunctions to determine required repairs.
  • Follow established inspection and repair procedures, ensuring all critical components are examined and repaired according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect and adjust protective guards, safety devices, and other vehicle components as required.
  • Perform operational and road tests to verify repairs and ensure equipment is functioning safely and properly.
  • Properly document repairs, labor operations, and warranty information.
  • Maintain compliance with manufacturer policies, torque specifications, and warranty requirements.
  • Participate in technical training programs and stay current with factory service bulletins and industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships while delivering exceptional service.
  • Complete all assigned work in accordance with company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional mobile work environment.
  • Ensure customer vehicles and equipment are returned in the same or better condition than received.
  • Meet productivity and performance expectations established by management.
  • Travel to customer locations and perform repairs in a variety of field environments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
