About The Position

The Mobile Diesel Service Technician performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision. The role assists customers with over-the-road repairs and diagnosis within an assigned region, and requires travel. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Must possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL; the responsibilities also specify obtaining and retaining a Class A or B CDL during employment.
Motor Vehicle Record must adhere to TLG MVR guidelines.

Nice To Haves

College degree or a certificate or degree from a trade school.
Experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components, then test the equipment to ensure repairs are completed properly.
Travel to customer locations to perform repairs and provide over-the-road assistance and diagnosis.
Follow safety rules and company policies.
Communicate with the Service Manager about parts that are unavailable for repairs.
Download and save Paccar Solutions/Decisiv materials, including pictures, engine files from before and after repairs, and diagnostic tests used.
Maintain a repair order closure rate of under 10 days and a 3-day lag.
Document troubleshooting steps, results of repairs, and other relevant repair information in detail.
Save warrantable parts; tag, wash, box, and deliver them to the correct location, labeling each box with the repair order number, serial number, customer name, and date.
Maintain 85% efficiency and 90% productivity.
Maintain a Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
Obtain and retain a Class A or B CDL during employment.
Maintain the company vehicle and ensure it is stocked with required tools and parts for off-site repairs.
