About The Position

Prestige Fleet Services is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to perform on-site maintenance and repairs for Class 6–8 trucks and trailers. The role involves working with a range of vehicle systems and components, completing preventive maintenance and inspections, and documenting work electronically. Technicians travel to customer locations and work outdoors in varying and sometimes extreme weather conditions. First- and second-shift schedules are available.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
At least 2 years of truck and trailer maintenance and repair experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Valid driver's license.
Communication skills.
Self-motivation and strong organization and planning skills.
Ability to use a computer or tablet to process work orders, enter labor hours, and update work-order statuses.
Basic computer skills.
Must possess proper tools.
Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, when needed.
Ability to complete all physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 years of diesel and trailer repair experience.
High school education or equivalent.
Certifications.
Welding experience.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6–8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after-treatment systems, lift-gates, and tires.
Schedule and oversee maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
Repair or replace vehicle and trailer components.
Open and close repair orders using a company-issued device.
Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and on time.
