About The Position

Prestige Fleet Services is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on Class 6–8 trucks and trailers at customer locations. The role uses company technology to process work orders and reduce administrative time, and requires a self-motivated technician who can work independently and support customers’ maintenance needs. First- and second-shift schedules are available.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
At least 2 years of experience in truck or trailer maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
A valid driver’s license.
Communication skills.
Self-motivation and strong organization and planning skills.
Ability to use a computer or tablet to process work orders, enter labor hours, and update work-order statuses.
Basic computer skills.
Must possess proper tools.
Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays when needed.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 years of diesel and trailer repair experience.
High school education or equivalent.
Certifications.
Welding experience.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6–8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after-treatment systems, lift-gates, and tires.
Schedule and oversee maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
Repair or replace vehicle and trailer components.
Open and close repair orders on a company-issued device.
Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and on time.
