About The Position

The Mixer Truck Driver operates a ready-mix concrete truck to deliver concrete to the precast plant and production areas. The role coordinates deliveries and concrete pours with production associates, meets delivery schedules, and operates the truck and mixer safely. It also includes maintaining truck and batch plant equipment, operating a loader when needed, using computerized batching systems, and keeping the work area, tools, and equipment clean and orderly. The driver must follow Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

Deliver concrete to the production area according to direction from bed personnel.
Coordinate concrete pouring with designated production-area associates.
Check fluid levels, perform minor truck maintenance, or request maintenance when necessary.
Maintain the preventative maintenance program for batch plant equipment.
Operate the truck mixer and make judgments regarding concrete slump.
Operate a loader and assist with plant maintenance when needed.
Meet production concrete delivery schedules.
Use computerized batching systems.
Load the truck properly, drive safely in the yard, and discharge concrete from the truck into forms.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area, tools, and equipment.
Adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
