The primary requirements of the Mixer Operator are to properly mix and process compounds through the mixer within allowable specifications. This role involves operating assigned machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. The position requires the operator to lift bags weighing up to 55 lbs. from a transfer wagon and stage them on the charge conveyor, manually adjust the location of bales on the conveyor, and perform repetitive motions such as sweeping and scraping the mixer. The operator will communicate with additional staff members and is responsible for the operation of the Mixer, Skid unloader, Bale Cutter, Weigh Conveyor, and Charge conveyor. This role also involves following the production schedule, assisting in establishing and maintaining compound processing procedures, filling out applicable paperwork, emptying oil buckets, and assisting in staging and organizing raw materials. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area according to 5S standards, supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives, and adhering to all safety policies and wearing required PPE are also key responsibilities. The operator must be capable of maintaining quality control by monitoring production output and identifying any issues with the product or process. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Shift Supervisor, including operating a forklift for various functions.
