LMI•Remote,
•$93,000 - $150,000•Remote

About The Position

As a Mission Manager, you will own pilot implementations and work directly with customers to deploy, adapt, and validate LMI solutions in operational environments. You will lead deployments, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure solutions deliver measurable value in the field, while managing evolving requirements, real-world constraints, and changing stakeholder needs. You will guide pilots toward enterprise-scale implementation by capturing and synthesizing customer feedback, usage patterns, and operational insights. You will use those findings to inform solution improvements, strengthen adoption, and support expansion decisions. The role combines hands-on operational execution with strategic partnership to drive immediate results and shape how solutions scale across customers. LMI is developing RFID, GPS tagging, and sensor-mesh solutions for mission-critical Department of Defense operations. The company describes itself as a digital solutions provider focused on accelerating government impact through commercial-grade platforms, mission-ready AI, federal deployment expertise, and collaboration across the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors. LMI is headquartered in Tysons, Virginia.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in operations, program delivery, solutions engineering, consulting, or related fields within DoD or similarly complex environments.
  • Experience working directly with customers or end users, building trust, communicating across stakeholder levels, and driving alignment.
  • Ability to translate operational challenges into actionable solutions, bridging user needs and technical implementation.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and/or design, to deliver outcomes in complex environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills; ability to synthesize complex information, make informed tradeoffs under pressure, and maintain forward momentum.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30–40% and work on-site in operational environments such as warehouses, maintenance facilities, shipyards, or similar settings.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in DoD logistics, supply chain, maintenance, or operational workflows.
  • Prior experience in forward-deployed, field-based, or customer-embedded roles.
  • Familiarity with RFID, IoT, asset tracking, or sensor-based systems.
  • Experience supporting or delivering pilot programs, prototypes, or early-stage technology deployments.
  • Background in military service, federal consulting, or defense technology environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary interface with DoD stakeholders, leading on-site engagements, pilots, and deployments in operational environments such as warehouses, arms rooms, maintenance facilities, and shipyards.
  • Own pilot execution end-to-end and keep activities aligned with mission objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Engage end users and leaders to identify operational challenges, workflow constraints, and mission needs; translate field insights into actionable requirements for solution and service development.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape and iterate solutions based on operational feedback, including rapid adjustments during pilots.
  • Work with engineers and solution specialists to deploy, configure, and validate systems in real-world environments.
  • Troubleshoot issues and refine implementations to ensure solutions perform reliably under operational conditions.
  • Drive user adoption through hands-on engagement, training support, and ongoing interaction with end users.
  • Capture and synthesize feedback, usage data, and performance insights to evaluate pilot success and inform improvements.
  • Translate pilot outcomes into validated use cases, service patterns, and recommendations for broader deployment and enterprise-scale implementation.
  • Maintain visibility into progress, risks, and dependencies through structured planning, documentation, and communication.
