About The Position

The Mission Command Fundamentals (MCF) Lead Instructor will serve as the primary instructor and facilitator for the Mission Command Fundamentals Course (MCFC) at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. This full-time position requires guiding students through a four-week curriculum, attending all course events, and assisting the Course Director in executing the course smoothly. The role involves facilitating discussions, case studies, and exercises related to Mission Command principles, MDMP, Joint Operations, and operational leadership. The instructor will also introduce guest speakers and engage with senior international military students to promote professional development and understanding of operational-level command and control. A minimum SECRET security clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Significant operational experience at the command or senior staff level, with a strong background in applying Mission Command principles.
  • Proven experience in instruction, facilitation, or mentorship, preferably with field-grade military leaders (O-3 to O-6) and/or international partner forces.
  • Strong understanding of operational-level planning, joint operations, and planning methodologies (e.g., MDMP, Army Design Methodology) relevant to complex maritime and joint environments.
  • Excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead Socratic discussions, facilitate wargames, and engage with international partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a Course Director and multiple subject matter experts to deliver a cohesive and high-quality educational experience.
  • Must hold and maintain a minimum of a SECRET security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary instructor and facilitator for the Mission Command Fundamentals Course (MCFC), guiding students through the four-week curriculum.
  • Be present and available throughout the entire course period for each iteration.
  • Attend and actively participate in key course events, including the course introduction, daily case studies, guest speaker lectures, the capstone exercise, and the graduation ceremony.
  • Assist the Course Director in the execution of the course, ensuring a smooth flow of instruction and activities.
  • Facilitate discussions, case studies, and hands-on exercises related to Mission Command principles, MDMP, Joint Operations, operational leadership, and other course topics.
  • Introduce and provide context for guest speakers and subject matter experts during their lectures.
  • Engage with senior international military students to foster an environment of professional development and an understanding of operational-level command and control.
