Mission Assurance Engineer, Electrical - Millennium Space Systems
About The Position
Millennium Space Systems is seeking an electrical engineer to join its Mission Assurance team and broaden their expertise to encompass mission-level perspectives and system design needs. The role independently evaluates engineering designs across the full design space to identify risks and opportunities, prevent problems, and support mission success. Mission Assurance is involved from concept inception through final operations, and the engineer will support programs through all stages of that lifecycle. The role serves as a Program Mission Assurance Engineer for one or more programs, applying electrical power and circuit-design expertise to satellite, ground, and/or network systems. It involves reviewing mission designs, coordinating design, test, and execution activities, evaluating qualification and acceptance testing, developing or using tools for technical analysis and simulation, and supporting anomaly preparation and resolution. The position is expected to be 100% onsite at one of the listed location options. This role is hiring at Levels 3 and 4; its internal job code is Systems Engineer.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or directly related non-U.S. equivalent qualifications.
- At least 5 years of post-graduate experience in space system design, assembly, testing, and/or operation.
- Post-graduate experience relevant to mission design and/or operation, especially in electronics design, power systems, software architecture, and/or RF systems.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering and satellite electronics design principles.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government, and an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance is required post-start.
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person.
- Must satisfy the company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process.
- Must be willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate mission assurance efforts, including risk management, discrepancy resolution, and design reviews, for one or more programs as the Program Mission Assurance Engineer.
- Provide electrical power and circuit-design subject matter expertise for topics related to satellite, ground, and/or network systems.
- Review mission designs and coordinate with other engineers to assure mission design, test, and execution efforts.
- Evaluate qualification and acceptance test plans for requirements verification and suitability for the specific mission environment.
- Use existing tools or create new tools to solve technical problems through analysis, design, or simulation techniques that can be corroborated with testing.
- Coordinate with integration, testing, and mission operations crews to review, generate, and implement anomaly training.
- Participate in mission operations and anomaly resolution efforts.
- Coordinate findings with program and company leadership to support timely development and implementation of solutions.
