Software Engineer Developer – Millennium Space Systems
About The Position
Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, is a small satellite company focused on national security space missions, including missile warning and Earth observation. The Software Engineer Developer will administer and develop JIRA projects and related Atlassian tools used for program management and software development. The role works with Millennium’s information technology department to maintain JIRA health and coordinate maintenance and upgrades. The position is onsite at the company’s El Segundo, California office, and the team is hiring at level 4. The role is the main point of contact for user questions and training related to JIRA and other Atlassian products. It also involves maintaining documentation and supporting multiple JIRA environments for development, testing, and production.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of JIRA and general Atlassian product administration experience.
- At least 3 years of general web application administration experience.
- Programming experience with Python, Java, SQL, JSON, and Groovy.
- Experience with modern web application administration.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance is required after starting.
- Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process.
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with GitLab or similar version control tools.
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams to determine needs and goals.
- Experience administering Atlassian products such as Confluence.
- Engineering or aerospace environment experience.
- Process improvement experience.
- Experience as an administrator delivering application services in an enterprise environment.
- Comfort with Linux and general server concepts, including patching, storage, networking, and Apache web.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain JIRA projects, workflows, issues, permissions, and other elements to support program and team requirements.
- Monitor the health of JIRA servers and other Atlassian tools to minimize downtime and maximize data availability.
- Plan and build JIRA environments for development and testing in addition to production, and perform data migrations as needed.
- Assist users with JIRA and other Atlassian products and provide individual or group training as needed.
- Prepare and maintain documentation on the design and usage of Millennium’s JIRA and other Atlassian products.
- Work with Millennium’s information technology department to maintain JIRA health and coordinate maintenance and upgrades.
