Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in a related role with experience in hardware and software operations.
Educational and progressive work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree at management’s discretion.
Demonstrated lead worker or supervisory experience.
Ability to identify and solve computer problems and act independently with a wide variety of employees and vendors required.
Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand and resolve technical problems independently.

Responsibilities

Ensuring the smooth day-to-day functions of MIS Service area.
Ensuring staff coverage, call levels and contractual compliance.
Serving as the second level of end-user problem resolution.
Carrying out first line support for all aspects of a facility’s IT infrastructure in person, on the phone and via remote connection.
Carrying out fault finding and problem solving on software and hardware issues and passing on more complex faults and requests for regional support.
Providing technical support to ensure that personal computers and servers (hardware and software) are performing properly.
Coordinating with Corporate and/or regional staff on an as needed basis or with other duties as assigned.
Tracking technology inventory.
Performing necessary research on specifications and ordering hardware and software inventory required to be fully functional and in compliance with corporate standards.
Monitoring the facility computer operation’s budget in conjunction with Regional I.T. staff.
Maintaining security administration of systems and assigning local domain log-in profiles and passwords for staff as necessary; ensuring that users have access to appropriate applications and files that will allow them to perform their assigned duties.
Creating, maintaining, modifying, and producing accurate and timely reports using Crystal Reports on GEOnet system.
Collaborating with the training department to develop and implement system training on a regular basis to all appropriate staff personnel.
Maintaining daily backups on LAN and restoring when required.
Maintaining security, operation, and maintenance of the system.
Ensuring strict adherence to software licensing rules and maintaining careful records.
Generating reports and summaries requiring technical expertise on utilization, projected needs and other areas as requested by management.
Traveling to other facilities not limited to the staff’s home region as needed.
General knowledge of telephone systems.
Performing other duties as assigned.
