Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in a related role with experience in hardware and software operations.
  • Demonstrated lead worker or supervisory experience.
  • Ability to identify and solve computer problems and act independently with a wide variety of employees and vendors required.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand and resolve technical problems independently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide management and technical expertise to the MIS division and secondary line support to facility users.
  • Support, advise, and maintain various computer operations throughout a facility, including technical support, telecommunication, computer operations, and network administration.
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day functions of the MIS Service area.
  • Ensure staff coverage, call levels, and contractual compliance.
  • Act as the second level of support for end-user problems or questions.
  • Conduct first-line support for all aspects of a facility’s IT infrastructure in person, on the phone, and via remote connection.
  • Conduct fault finding and problem-solving on software and hardware issues, passing more complex faults and requests to Regional support.
  • Provide technical support to ensure personal computers and servers (hardware and software) are performing properly.
  • Coordinate with Corporate and/or Regional staff on an as-needed basis or with other duties as assigned.
  • Track technology inventory.
  • Perform necessary research on specifications and order hardware and software inventory required to be fully functional and in compliance with Corporate standards.
  • May monitor the facility computer operations budget in conjunction with Regional I.T. staff.
  • Maintain security administration of systems and assign local domain log-in profiles and passwords for staff as necessary; ensure users have access to appropriate applications and files.
  • Create, maintain, modify, and produce accurate and timely reports using Crystal Reports on the GEOnet system.
  • Collaborate with the training department to develop and implement system training on a regular basis to all appropriate staff personnel.
  • Maintain daily backups on LAN and restore when required.
  • Maintain security, operation, and maintenance of the system.
  • Ensure strict adherence to software licensing rules and maintain careful records.
  • Generate reports and summaries requiring technical expertise on utilization, projected needs, and other areas as requested by management.
  • Provide general knowledge of telephone systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
