About The Position

Freeport-McMoRan is offering internship opportunities for full-time students currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university and recent graduates in North America. These are temporary, full-time, paid positions that typically run from May through August. The program aims to provide a collaborative environment where interns can gain skills and experience for a successful future, guided by the company's core values of recognizing excellence and encouraging safe production. This position is not eligible for immigration work visa sponsorship. The internship is virtual, allowing remote work from most U.S. states, with specific exceptions. Interns may also be required to come together in person at the Phoenix Collaboration Hub or a site location when necessary.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year university, pursuing a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in an appropriate MIS or Computer Technology discipline or closely related field; OR Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in MIS, or Computer Technology or closely related field.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Possesses strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented.
  • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate our core values of honesty, fairness, respect, trust, and integrity.
  • Ability to understand, apply and communicate verbal and written work and safety-related instructions, procedures, job assignments and applicable safety standards in English.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIS related duties assigned per department.
  • Meet with business to evaluate their business and technical needs, define scope and document business requirements.
  • Research internal and external solutions.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and document findings.
  • Create end-user and training documentation.
  • Document and maintain perimeter risk assessment.
  • Document and maintain network device hardening process.
  • Create and conduct security awareness training.
  • Manage security vulnerability management assessment.
  • Analyze and document business requirements.
  • Write queries and perform data analysis.
  • Design and develop, enhance or fix reports and dashboards.
  • Work with users to adopt solutions.
  • Understands SOA design patterns, specifically with micro-services.
  • Experience writing .NET code; C# specifically, JavaScript and SOL.
  • An interest in UX/UI design.
  • Understands cloud platforms.
