About The Position

Freeport-McMoRan is committed to providing internship opportunities that recognize excellence and encourage safe production with a culture supported by our core values. Our internship program is designed for full-time students currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university and recent graduates in North America. These are temporary full-time paid positions that usually run from May through August. This position is not eligible for Freeport-McMoRan immigration work visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited university pursuing a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in Supply Chain, logistics, or closely related field; OR Recent college graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a degree, bachelor’s or higher, Supply Chain, logistics, or closely related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Knowledge of purchasing rules, regulations, inventory control systems and methods, forms purchase orders and accounts payable processes.
  • Ability to research and gather information related to vendors, contracts, equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to use computer databases to research, maintain and update records and files.
  • Ability to understand, apply and communicate verbal and written work and safety-related instructions, procedures, job assignments and applicable safety standards in English.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to use a variety of computer software, including word processing, database and spreadsheet applications (Microsoft office suite)

Responsibilities

  • Participates in system implementation/business process projects.
  • Contributes to reporting, analytical, and date enrichment activities.
  • Reviews inventory data within Inventory Planning System.
  • Create analysis on Market trends and develop analysis in support of bid activities.
  • Prepares system and business process training documentation.
  • Assists with execution of training and system/business process rollout activities.
  • Performs other duties as required.
