About The Position

This position is for a Graduate Student Employee Biweekly at Baylor University, within the Missions, Service & Public Life Department. The role involves assisting with various departmental programs and initiatives, communicating with individuals regarding events, supporting student leaders, and potentially serving as a Mission Trip/Service Trip leader. The desired length of employment is for the Fall and Spring semesters of the 2026-27 academic year.

Requirements

  • Able to lift 25 to 50 pounds regularly
  • Able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • Able to see and respond to potentially hazardous situations during community service site inspections
  • Able to occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, steep ramps, or stairs to access event materials/supplies
  • Able to work in extreme weather (heat and/or cold)

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant background and experience in cultural or religious diversity and belonging
  • Experience in curriculum design, mentoring and/or leadership
  • Ability to drive for MSPL events and activities (pending approval through Baylor’s Driver Training)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with departmental programs/initiatives as assigned including, but not limited to: Steppin’ Out Day of Service, BearAid Disaster Relief, Missions Week, departmental service organization meetings and events, mission trip preparation and training, and student leadership trainings
  • Communicate with Baylor and Non-Baylor individuals who have inquiries about Missions, Service & Public Life events/programming
  • Support student leaders in planning organization meetings, events, and service
  • Serve as a Mission Trip/ Service Trip leader if qualifications are met and schedule permits
