About The Position

Living Faith Alliance Church is seeking an experienced ministry leader to serve during a significant season in the life of the church. The church describes its vision as pursuing all of Jesus for all of life, with a focus on relationships in individual lives, homes, the church family, and the community. The Minister of Youth and Pastoral Care will seek God’s direction in developing a team of leaders who reach and equip middle- and high-school students in the congregation and local community, and foster a vibrant post-high-school community. The role also shepherds the church and develops a pastoral-care approach across the congregation. This includes coordinating the Pastoral Care Team, Pastor’s Team, and other leaders to assess needs and implement care through both organized systems and an organic culture of care. The role participates in executive-team work, helps advance and troubleshoot the church’s vision, co-leads the Leadership Community/Advisory Board, and takes part in preaching, teaching, and worship-service leadership. It leads the Care Team and Youth Ministry, emphasizing the development and support of leaders. Youth ministry work includes building a student culture centered on God’s presence, authentic relationships, knowledge of God, honoring parents, and mission; partnering with families and missions teams; responding to crises affecting students and parents; and implementing family-ministry values and the Milestone Pathway. The position also oversees transitions into middle school, high school, and post-high-school life and partners with children’s and early-childhood ministries to support a unified, developmentally appropriate approach. The position may require licensing with The Christian & Missionary Alliance. Applicants are asked to submit an application including a testimony, résumé, and other relevant background information. Requirements

At least 2 years of ministry experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Full agreement with The Christian and Missionary Alliance Doctrinal Statement.
Track record of growing disciples, caring for people, and developing leaders.
Experience leading or managing a team of people.

Nice To Haves

Licensed or ordained.
10 years of ministry experience.
Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

Pursue Jesus and discern his direction for caring for students and the church congregation.
Participate in Executive Team work to advance and troubleshoot the church’s vision and co-lead the Leadership Community/Advisory Board for strategic assessment and implementation.
Participate in the preaching and teaching rotation and worship-service leadership.
Help provide pastoral care in cooperation with the Pastors Team.
Lead and coordinate the Care Team, including general care, crisis care, assimilation and small-groups care, care coordination, and the Security Team.
Develop and lead the leaders who carry out Youth Ministry.
Build a student culture characterized by God’s presence, authentic relationships, knowledge of God, honoring parents, and mission.
Partner with local and global missions teams and with families as primary faith nurturers.
Respond to crises involving students and parents.
Implement Family Ministry Values and integrate them with the Milestone Pathway and middle- and high-school core competencies.
Oversee transitions into middle school, high school, and post-high-school life.
Partner with Household Ministries, Treasure Seekers (grades 1–5), and Early Childhood to support a unified, developmentally appropriate approach to discipling the next generation.
Coordinate with the Pastoral Care Team, Pastor’s Team, and other leaders to assess care needs and implement care across the church.
