About The Position

The Miner Multi-Skilled performs vehicle maintenance and related operational and site upkeep duties. The role includes inspecting and maintaining vehicles, assisting with repairs, and supporting the maintenance of the yard, plant, and office. The employee must follow company safety, health, environmental, and other policies and be able to work required overtime and a flexible schedule.

The position requires outdoor work in varying or extreme weather conditions and physical activity that may include standing, walking, sitting, gripping, climbing, reaching, shoveling, squatting, crawling, pulling, pushing, bending, and lifting up to 45 pounds. The employee must understand technical oral and written instructions, have excellent driving skills, and maintain satisfactory customer and public relations.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
• One year of experience in plant production and/or operations; manufacturing production experience using automated controls to monitor temperatures, pressures, weights, or similar measures is considered similar experience.
• Sufficient education to understand technical oral and written instructions relating to products and vehicles.
• Excellent driving skills and the ability to maintain satisfactory customer and public relations while performing duties.
• Ability to speak and read English and have a working knowledge of the language.
• Ability to work required overtime and a flexible schedule.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull, push, bend, and lift up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying or extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections and document and report vehicle condition at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Check vehicle fluid levels daily and add fluids when necessary.
• Clean the outside of vehicles throughout each shift to prevent material build-up.
• Assist mechanics with vehicle repairs and change tires as necessary.
• Drive a flatbed truck and operate a forklift and overhead crane as needed.
• Assist with maintenance and upkeep of the yard, plant, and office.
• Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental, and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Work required overtime and a flexible work schedule.
