About The Position

The Mine Tire Technician performs tire service and repair work, basic general service functions on customer vehicles of all sizes, fleet inspections, and other duties involving large and giant mining tires and equipment. The position may involve working daily at customer mining locations and servicing all sizes of off-the-road and mining equipment tires. The technician uses specialized hydraulic equipment to change tires and provides scheduled preventative maintenance and tire inspections at customer premises. The role also includes identifying and recommending additional tire, retreading, parts, or service needs.

Requirements

Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift and/or move tires weighing 30–250 pounds, with or without mechanical assistance.
Ability to perform repetitive and sustained exertions, forceful exertions, awkward postures, and work involving mechanical stress concentrations and vibrations.
Valid CDL and acceptable driving record.
Valid driver license to operate vehicles.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check.

Responsibilities

Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires, and perform related service and repair work.
Work daily at customer mining locations when applicable.
Service tires on all sizes of off-the-road and mining equipment.
Use specialized hydraulic equipment when changing customer tires.
Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance at customer premises.
Inspect tires for wear, cuts, breaks, and other issues; make appropriate recommendations to the owner or operator.
Change tires and tubes.
Identify and recommend additional purchases of tires, retreading, parts, or service work.
Maintain a 4S work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
