About The Position

B2Gold is seeking a Mine Engineer, UG for their operations in Nunavut, Canada. This role is responsible for the three-month mine plan, including development and stope design, planning, and scheduling. The engineer will ensure short-term targets align with the mid-term mine plan and develop strategies for short-term execution. Key responsibilities include preliminary stopes design, coordinating operational projects, contractors, and suppliers, developing and leading operational optimization initiatives, and supporting permitting and reporting processes. The role requires close collaboration with underground superintendents and shift bosses to ensure the execution of mine plans and adherence to health, safety, and environment policies.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of relevant experience in underground mine engineering is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or Geological Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with Engineers and Geoscientists Nunavut, or the ability to obtain registration, is required.
• Proficiency in mining software such as Deswik (CAD, Sched, and IS) is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with VentSim and SAP is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the three (3) - month mine plan including development and stope design, planning, scheduling.
• Ensure short-term targets are aligned with the mid-term mine plan and develop the strategy for the short-term execution.
• Complete the preliminary stopes design, including the strategy for mining, ventilation and backfill.
• Coordinate operational projects, contractors and suppliers.
• Develop and lead operational optimization initiatives.
• Support permitting and reporting processes.
• Work closely with underground superintendents and shift bosses to ensure understanding and execution of the mine plans.
• Adhere to B2Gold Nunavut’s health, safety and environment policies and procedures.
