MIM Operations Manager (Metal Injection Molding) – Rockford, IL
About The Position
The MIM Operations Manager will advance the company’s Metal Injection Molding (MIM) manufacturing operations, a new growth area for the organization. The role leads day-to-day MIM production and serves as the technical authority for MIM processes across the organization, bridging production execution and engineering leadership. The manager is accountable for quality, delivery, and cost in line with customer expectations, and will develop the technical team, including a Senior Process Engineer. The role works closely with the Metallurgist and customers to support successful project execution and position the organization for current and future business growth. The position reports directly to the Director of Engineering. Compensation is a base salary of $145,000–$165,000 plus a 20% bonus. Paid relocation is offered, and recruiting is nationwide.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field.
- At least 7 years of experience.
- Strong expertise in MIM processing, including feedstock, molding, debinding, and sintering.
- Understanding of metallurgical and materials principles.
- Experience leading technical personnel.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day MIM production, with accountability for quality, delivery, and cost to customer expectations.
- Serve as the technical leader for MIM processes across the organization.
- Own technical expertise, operational execution, and team development.
- Develop and lead the technical team, including the Senior Process Engineer.
