About The Position

Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor that provides responsive, innovative solutions to increase plant production, reduce costs, and prevent shutdowns in industries such as petrochemical, refining, energy, and pulp and paper. The company is seeking an experienced Millwright for a maintenance position in Plaquemine, LA. The Millwright installs and/or maintains machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman, with assigned duties performed according to specific procedures and frequent checks.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Dismantles machines.
Moves machinery and equipment.
Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines, and blowers.
Aligns machines and equipment using the reverse alignment method.
Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
May operate an engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
May repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
May be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.
Removes plant equipment, disassembles, repairs, and reinstalls.
Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
