About The Position

The Millwright SSBO is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, and maintaining manufacturing and facilities' equipment, tools, and machinery. This role requires performing work in compliance with applicable state and federal codes. The primary objective is to ensure that manufacturing and facilities' equipment, tools, and machinery are kept in proper, efficient, and safe working order. This involves troubleshooting, modifying, repairing, and installing various systems and their components, including vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, induction, heating, lubrication, abrasive, and pressure cleaning systems. The position also entails troubleshooting and repairing facilities' operations and physical systems, and performing necessary plumbing, machining, welding, and fabrication. Additionally, the Millwright SSBO will plan and implement projects from design to maintenance, provide technical assistance to Engineering, and develop sketches or drawings for proposed modifications. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, requiring adherence to all safety rules, safe operation of equipment, identification and correction of safety problems, and response to hazardous materials spills. Depending on the specific location (TBO, LSBO only), there may be requirements for hazardous waste training and management. The role also involves providing work direction and training as assigned, and potentially participating in a Hazardous Materials Spill Response Team.

Requirements

  • Advanced plumbing, machining, welding, fabrication, troubleshooting, and mechanical skills as demonstrated by the competent performance of four years Journeymen Maintenance responsibilities at PCC or a comparable facility.
  • Valid driver's license required to drive PCC vehicles.
  • Ability to repair all vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, induction, heating, lubrication, abrasion, and pressure systems at PCC or a comparable facility.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow specifications on blueprints, drawings, technical manuals, work orders, and other technical specifications.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • A millwright training or apprenticeship program preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience.
  • Ability to assist other departments through planning and technical assistance processes. (LSBO and TBO only)
  • Ability to provide working supervision, work direction, and/or training as directed.
  • May be required to complete annual hazardous waste training, handle hazardous waste, complete weekly inspections, or manage areas that generate or handle hazardous waste.
  • May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management Training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain manufacturing and facilities' equipment, tools, and machinery in proper, efficient, and safe working order.
  • Troubleshoot, modify, repair, and install manufacturing machinery, tools, and equipment for vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, induction, heating, lubrication, abrasive, and pressure cleaning systems, and their components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facilities' operations and physical systems.
  • Perform plumbing, machining, welding, and fabrication to machinery, tools, and equipment components as required to maintain systems.
  • Plan and implement projects from design and layout through maintenance.
  • Provide technical assistance to Engineering in the design and selection of equipment and facilities.
  • Develop sketches or drawings on proposed modifications.
  • Adhere to plant and department safety rules.
  • Safely operate all equipment and tools.
  • Identify and report safety problems; correct when possible.
  • Recognize and respond to Hazardous Materials spills.
  • Complete logs and records.
  • Provide work direction and training as assigned.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.
  • May be required to participate in Hazardous Materials Spill Response Team.
