About The Position

The Rework Analyst is responsible for analyzing inspection information to determine whether castings should be reworked or scrapped based on program standards, cost, and repair feasibility. This role also oversees salvage routing and ensures the quality of products leaving the rework area. The position involves making critical decisions about part routing, coordinating with rework inspectors and engineering, and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

Advanced Rework Grinder skills as demonstrated by the competent performance of Rework Grinder A and Rework Inspection duties, and completion of the Rework Analyst Course are preferred OR An equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience.
Working knowledge of casting parts and inspection criteria.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow specifications on Tech Cards, blueprints, and drawings.
Ability to work independently.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to provide working supervision and work direction.
Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing thirty to fifty pounds and occasionally up to one hundred pounds.
Ability to work in difficult working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes and other elements for extended periods of time.
Previous computer experience (preferred for SSBO).

Responsibilities

Analyze inspection information to make decisions on reworking or scrapping castings.
Consider cost and repair feasibility when making routing decisions.
Coordinate rework decisions with rework inspectors and engineering.
Oversee the routing of castings for rework repairs.
Prepare paperwork for scraping castings with engineering approval.
Enter routing/analysis information into computer or manual systems.
Review paperwork and checklists before routing parts to shipping.
Oversee the work of rework inspectors, grinders, and welders.
Provide feedback on work quality, techniques, and related information to supervisors, inspectors, grinders, and welders.
Assure completion of required audits.
Complete a variety of logs, audits, and records.
Adhere to plant and department safety rules.
Safely operate all equipment and tools.
Identify and report safety problems.
Perform other tasks as directed.
