About The Position

Maintain and repair, operate, inspect, and lubricate machinery and equipment associated with and including low and high pressure steam and low and high temperature hot water boilers, air compressors, and other power generators, and auxiliary equipment. Work involves use of hand and power tools, plumb bobs, levels, wedges, dogs, or turnbuckles. Inspect and repair boiler fittings, such as safety valves, regulators, automatic-control mechanisms, water columns, and auxiliary machines. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
  • Minimum relevant industrial mechanical or millwright experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documents.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call as needed.
  • Must be able to wear a supplied-air hood or respirator for extended periods as required by job tasks or environmental conditions.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, noisy, or chemical process environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
  • Must be medically qualified to wear respiratory protection in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Must pass drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic system repair.
  • Experience with rotating equipment alignment and balancing.
  • Familiarity with CMMS maintenance systems.
  • Millwright certification or welding certifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting
  • Experience with rigging, alignment, and precision measurement
  • Forklift, manlift, or crane certification

Responsibilities

  • Install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, mixers, and rotating equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures using inspection tools and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and work orders.
  • Perform precision alignments including laser and dial indicator alignment.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and identify reliability improvements.
  • Replace bearings, seals, belts, chains, couplings, and mechanical components.
  • Perform rigging and equipment movement using hoists, cranes, and lifting devices.
  • Assist with equipment installations, shutdowns, and capital improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work records.
  • Follow all plant safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hot work requirements.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in assigned work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
