About The Position

Fabricates, installs and repairs machinery and equipment in industrial establishments by performing the following duties: Follows safe operating procedures, maintains 5S standards, performs PM activities as required, communicates with co-workers from the previous and following shifts to discuss problems and concerns, and actively participates in continuous improvement activities. Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Fabricates, assembles and installs equipment such as automation, material handling devices, shafting and conveyors. Installs and maintains building, grounds, utilities, air conditioning systems, and compressed air systems. Repairs and maintains material handling devices, including hoists, carts and forklifts. Operates lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications. Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment. Orders supplies with purchase requisition according to work order assigned through Maintenance Supervisor. Closes out work orders upon completion. Observes and listens to mechanical devices in operation to troubleshoot any issues. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examines form and texture of mechanical parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used mechanical parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repairs and replaces defective mechanical parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Starts devices to test their performance. Records maintenance actions performed in computerized maintenance system. Completes other tasks within job classification as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor. Assist other associates as directed by Maintenance Supervisor. Supports Engineering with projects.
