About The Position

INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA is seeking a Millwright Maintenance Technician for their Battleground Manufacturing Complex in La Porte, TX. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity of a large-scale petrochemical facility that produces high-density polyethylene and polypropylene. The technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical equipment, adhering to strict safety and environmental standards, and contributing to plant availability through problem-solving and precision maintenance. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of manual machining experience with lathes, mills, and broaching machines.
  • 5-10 years of experience in an industrial environment, polymer plants preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints or engineering drawings and machine specifications.
  • Hold tolerances within .0005”.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding and putting into practice the INEOS 20 Principles.
  • Safely working in a complex mechanical facility processing large quantities of flammable materials.
  • Participating in behavior-based safety processes.
  • Following standard procedures to ensure safety, environmental compliance, and high-quality work.
  • Measuring mechanical parameters, comparing them to standards, and returning equipment to meet OEM standards.
  • Recording key measurements to facilitate failure analysis and the development of improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshooting operational problems associated with rotating equipment.
  • Removing and installing equipment, including alignment and testing to ensure proper operation.
  • Participating in cross-functional teams to identify and solve problems to increase plant availability.
  • Identifying appropriate spare parts for equipment.
  • Precision assembly of complex gearboxes, pumps, compressors, blowers, airlocks, centrifuges, and specialized extruding equipment.
  • Reading blueprints or engineering drawings and machine specifications.
  • Holding tolerances within .0005”.
