About The Position

The Foreman is responsible for leading the crew of millwrights in the installation, maintenance, repair, and dismantling of industrial machinery. They act as the primary link between project management and the field workforce, ensuring that tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to high precision.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of four (4) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
  • Must have a general knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to assemble, install and test machines and equipment to make sure they are working correctly.
  • Able to use machinery or equipment, such as forklifts to move mechanical parts.
  • Experience overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing defective pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
  • Must be able to manage the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime
  • Must be able to pass the Millwright Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft.
  • Must complete the Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training.
  • Must maintain an active status within the DISA drug testing program.

Responsibilities

  • Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work to be done.
  • Inspects plant/refinery equipment for defects, such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.
  • Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
  • Advises when immediate shut-down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.
  • Dismantle, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical equipment.
  • Adjust equipment for proper operating characteristics.
  • Make either temporary or permanent repairs.
  • Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, and shafts involving the application of press, sliding, and running fits.
  • Operates simple machine tools, such as drill press, pipe-threading machine, and power saw.
  • Changes, sets up and adjusts equipment as required by current operating conditions.
  • Works with repair crews as directed on emergency breakdowns.
