Millwork Product and Account Manager

About The Position

Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for a Millwork Account Manager. This role involves performing marketing and outside sales of a broad mix of products and services to dealer accounts through personal customer contact. The position requires traveling through an assigned territory, quoting prices, and conducting sales presentations. The Account Manager will develop and implement sales strategies and product promotions, resolve customer issues, respond to complaints and receivable problems, and provide claims service. This may include job site visits. The role also requires maintaining knowledge of competitor products and managing the territory/customers for profitable results. Additionally, the Account Manager will provide promotional and merchandising support to customers in support of vendors, and provide training to customers, customer associates, and contractors and/or Sales Reps as needed. The position determines products, selects vendors, monitors performance, and maintains acceptable inventory levels, turnover, and margins to maximize branch profitability. It involves developing buy and sell strategies, vendor relationships, new products, promotions, and conducting sales presentations on assigned products. Screening appropriate product lines and negotiating with vendors to obtain the most favorable terms, prices, service, and promotional support is key. The role works closely with the sales team, marketing, and vendors to develop custom programs, block and special buys, promotions, and product support. Developing, maintaining, and gaining relevant knowledge of products, production processes, industry, market, and competitor analysis is essential. Evaluating monthly reports to optimize product line performance and contribution, and monitoring the receipt of rebates and special discounts to ensure vendor compliance are also responsibilities. The role solicits direct and warehouse sales on all millwork products and works closely with the location manager or sales team to provide detailed job quotes or multi-family quotes. Maintaining direct control over replenishment, pricing, and inventory of assigned products, changing prices as necessary, and maintaining catalogue price pages are required. Determining product market potential, identifying and evaluating competitive products, new markets, new product opportunities, and competitors are part of the role. The Account Manager will maintain customer relationships, quote prices, and sell additional products. Administering millwork vendor co-op/marketing funds and assisting the operations manager in warehousing assigned products are also duties. The role may involve making presentations at dealers’ meetings, sales meetings, builder shows, etc., and may maintain the division SKU master on assigned product lines. A strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement is expected. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function.
