About The Position

The Bernard Group is looking for a Production Manager to join their Millwork team. This role is responsible for managing, mentoring, and coaching Supervisors, Leads, and employees working in the Millwork department. The Production Manager will collaborate with Project Managers and other departments to ensure client and TBG creative ideas are turned into tangible works within the clients’ budgets and timelines. This role is responsible for ensuring the work is of the highest quality and for analyzing and evaluating existing workflows for optimization to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team. This is a key management role, responsible for all aspects of management including hiring, training, inspiring a passion for excellence, firing, and completing performance reviews.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing industry, preferably in the wood products industry
  • An OSHA 10 Hour certification

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and coach Supervisors, Leads, and employees in the Millwork department.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and other departments to ensure client ideas are realized within budget and timeline.
  • Ensure the highest quality of work according to TBG standards.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing workflows for optimization to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage all aspects of team management, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and potentially termination.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all assigned projects, including timelines, scopes, and resourcing needs.
  • Evaluate production requirements of assigned projects, including business requirements and material or technical specifications.
  • Plan production strategies and time tables, and prioritize, analyze, and implement more efficient and effective work flows.
  • Act as a liaison with other internal departments to ensure clients’ needs are met within project scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Ensure assembly integrity through continuous monitoring of departmental processes.
  • Anticipate production needs and problems and report concerns immediately to direct supervisor.
  • Circulate production details and produced elements for internal review in keeping with production timelines.
  • Maintain expertise with new technology, trends, prices, production techniques, and suppliers.
  • Support a safe environment, driving towards 0 OSHA recordables.
  • Represent corporate policy and communicate to employees as required.
  • Work to further develop skills and knowledge of team members.
  • Drive improvements in material flow, including cell design and material delivery.
  • Interact with other support departments as required.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
