About the Role As a Milling Machine Machinist 3, you will leverage your expertise in CNC milling to manufacture precision components to exacting standards. You will interpret complex engineering drawings, develop machining strategies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, all while operating state-of-the-art CNC machinery and collaborating with a dedicated team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proven experience operating CNC milling machines
  • Proficient blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
  • Hands-on experience with 3, 4, and 5-axis machining
  • CNC programming skills using Mastercam (MCAM)
  • Strong measurement, inspection, and quality verification abilities

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Operation of 5-axis CNC mills and live-tooling lathes
  • Familiarity with true 5-axis gantry machines (SNK)
  • Wire EDM operation experience
  • Ability to independently develop CNC programs and complete setups
  • Pre-inspection and CMM inspection support experience

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate advanced 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines for precision machining tasks
  • Interpret blueprints, models, and specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing
  • Develop machining sequences, tooling setups, and cutting parameters for complex components
  • Perform a variety of operations, including milling, boring, contouring, gear and spline cutting
  • Create and modify CNC programs using Mastercam (MCAM) software
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections prior to CMM verification
  • Maintain high-quality standards and support process improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot machining and setup issues with minimal supervision
