About The Position

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking a Mill Superintendent to join our expanding McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation. Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is advancing the McIlvenna Bay project, a cornerstone asset and one of the most significant copper development projects in Canada. With commercial production expected in mid-2026, this world-class deposit contains copper, zinc, gold, and silver – key metals for the global transition to green energy. As a key member of the Mill Operations Management Team, the Mill Superintendent will be responsible for leading the milling operations to ensure the efficient and safe processing of ore. This leadership role plays a critical part in optimizing production, maintaining equipment, and ensuring full compliance with safety, environmental, and health regulations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in mineral processing and milling operations, including supervisory or leadership roles.
  • Specific experience with flotation plants is required.
  • Strong knowledge of mineral processing equipment, techniques, and safety procedures, with a deep understanding of milling operations and process optimization.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop teams, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities to address process issues and implement solutions in real-time.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in milling software and computer applications for production management, reporting, and process control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, stakeholders, and external parties.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all aspects of milling operations, including crushing, grinding, flotation, dewatering, and paste plant to ensure safe and efficient production processes.
  • Develop and implement effective production plans and schedules to meet or exceed ore processing targets.
  • Prioritize and enforce safety protocols, policies, and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel. Enforce compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and health & safety guidelines.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a diverse team of mill operators, technicians, and support staff. Provide training, guidance, performance feedback, and foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and control, whenever necessary, ore processing parameters to ensure product quality, optimize mill efficiency, and troubleshoot any process issues, implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Implement best practices to minimize the environmental impact of milling operations. Participate in environmental monitoring and ensure compliance with environmental reporting standards.
  • Assist in developing and managing the milling department's budget. Provide input on cost estimation, control measures, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Maintain accurate records of milling activities, equipment performance, and maintenance. Generate reports on production performance, deviations from schedules, and corrective actions.
  • Develop, review, and maintain emergency response plans and procedures for milling-related incidents. Ensure all personnel are trained in emergency protocols.
