Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Mill Operator at our Portage la Prairie, MB. This position is responsible to operate all milling equipment and systems in the production of oat based ingredients.

Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent
Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
Computer knowledge an asset
Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs
Solid oral and written communication skills
Solid problem solving and trouble shooting skills
Able to work in a processing environment and adverse conditions (heights, steam processing and hot environments,)
Able to work independently as well as in a team environment

Responsibilities

Operate all milling equipment, including grain cleaning, dehulling, kilning, flaking and oat flour manufacturing systems
Steam heat treatment of raw and finished products
Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs on milling equipment
Test finished products and work in progress to ensure adherence to quality standards
Perform cleaning duties as assigned to meet standards in all areas of the mill and grounds
Accurately complete documentation for all processes
Operates in accordance with all food safety, safety, and fire prevention regulations and practices
Perform other duties as required
