About The Position

Under frequent supervision, the Mill Operator specializes in operating various mill equipment for steel pipe production. This position provides support to the Mills department with the primary focus on equipment operation.

Requirements

Must be able to use precision measuring equipment including but not limited to measuring tape and 100th diameter tape.
Basic math problems.
Must be able to operate a welding machine.
Grinder and cutting torch safely.

Responsibilities

Follow all safety and company policies / procedures and promotes a safe culture.
Complies with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules and regulations.
Wear all required personal protective equipment.
Operator various mill equipment.
Weld and splice pipe.
Break down coils.
Maintain housekeeping within all production, storage and waste areas.
Follow all work instructions, procedures, and job safety (JSA’s).
Properly identify (mark) pipe with the use of spray paint.
Effectively communicates issues to management.
Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and performance of the essential functions.
Safely operate machinery certified to use – overhead crane, forklift.
Propose standard operating procedures (SOPs) and job safety analysis (JSA’s).
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Sub arc welding.
