About The Position
We are looking for a MILL OPERATOR TRAINEE to join our Greenville, MS plant. As a Mill Operator Trainee with Contech you will contribute to America’s essential infrastructure including drainage systems, pipe, bridges and structures, and stormwater management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must Have Good Organizational and Math Skills.
- Must Have Good Mechanical Skills
- Must Have Good Welding Skills
- Must Be Able to Interpret Blueprints & Drawings
- Must Be Able to Effectively Use Micrometers, Dial Calipers, Radius Gauges & Other Measurement Devices
- Must Have Good Root Cause Problem Solving Skills
- 2 to 5 Years Hands-On Experience with Manufacturing Equipment Operation.
- Excellent Verbal Communication Skills.
- Willing to Gain Certification in Mill Operation and Forklift Operation, Provided by Company.
Responsibilities
- Operates overhead cranes, coil handlers or forklifts to move coil from storage to machine area.
- Threads in-coming coils through mill processes.
- Operates mill components using manual and automatic control on control panel.
- Butt welds and grinds strip ends manually.
- Performs and records all QA check measurements required by the Quality Manual on product being produced.
- Performs equipment setup, routine mechanical maintenance, and repairs to all mill process equipment.
