Requirements

High School Diploma
One (1) Year Hospital or Healthcare Laboratory technician
Food Safety Handler Certification within four (4) weeks of hire (at hospital orientation)

Nice To Haves

In-house training is required on scheduled basis per Milk Bank guidelines.

Responsibilities

Handles and processes the human milk through the milk bank laboratory.
Maintains lab equipment, cleaning all areas, storage and distribution zones, and maintain needed operational inventory.
Processes human milk and performs bacterial testing and macronutrient analysis of the human milk.
Maintains food handler certification.
Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.
Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
Assists internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.
May perform other duties as assigned.
