About The Position

As our Milk Technician, you will support our mission by safely preparing human milk and formula for a Level III NICU, ensuring quality of life for our youngest patients. Every day you will interpret technical physician orders, ensure accurate dosing, maintain quality and safety, order supplies, and adhere to all policies and procedures. You will also train new and ancillary staff as needed, operating equipment efficiently under regulatory guidelines and maintaining aseptic conditions. To be successful in this role, you will possess meticulous attention to detail in formula preparation and dosing, strong understanding of regulatory guidelines and aseptic techniques, and the ability to interpret technical orders, maintain safety, and provide training in a sensitive NICU environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Ability to interpret technical procedures and execute aseptic techniques
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Mathematical proficiency (includes adding, subtracting, multiplying and calculating percentages)
• Satisfactory completion of a formal technician training program within 12 weeks after hire

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) months related experience in formula room tech or infant pediatric formula preparation or combination experience

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers all infant feedings as ordered.
• Uses correct and accurate technique to measure powders and liquids in an aseptic environment.
• Delivers and confirms correct feedings with nursing staff.
• Stores prepared infant feedings properly until delivery to the patient area.
• Maintains daily records of patient profiles regarding infant feeding orders.
• Effectively communicates with Mother's Milk Bank to ensure adequate supply of donor breast milk for mixing and for nursing staff.
