About The Position

Venesco, LLC is seeking independently licensed counselors to serve as Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC) to support military members and families at/around Whiteman AFB, MO. Openings are available for school-based counselors, with the option for summer camp work. The role involves providing non-medical counseling, coaching, training, and education to address the complex stresses of military life, including deployment, frequent relocations, isolation, children coping with absence, child education, and spousal employment. Non-medical counseling covers areas such as living conditions, life skills, relationship improvement, stress management, adjustment issues, marital problems, parenting, fear, grief, and loss. School and Child Development Center Counselors are assigned to DoDEA schools, military childcare centers, and local community schools, requiring experience in a school setting for CYB positions. CYB counselors also work with youth programs, summer camps, and on-demand assignments, collaborating with military POCs to ensure program alignment with contract scope and installation needs. Additionally, Venesco is hiring for Mission Ready Reserve (MRR) Military & Family Life Counselors (MFLC), an on-call, part-time role to provide support during regular coverage gaps or surge needs, offering flexible hours and purpose-driven work. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the Behavioral Health Professions
  • Minimum 2 years of post-master’s supervised clinical experience
  • Mental Health Licensure at the Independent Practice level (Eligible license types: LCSW/LICSW, LMFT, LPC, LCPC, and LMHC)
  • School Counselors must demonstrate past experience working in a school setting or other Child/Youth Services setting.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a NACI level government security clearance

  • Prior military service/military family member and/or strong familiarity with the military culture

Responsibilities

  • Provide non-medical counseling, coaching, training, and education to military service members and their families.
  • Address complex stresses of military life, including deployment, frequent relocations, isolation, children coping with absence, child education, and spousal employment.
  • Support areas such as living conditions, life skills, improving relationships, stress management, adjustment issues, marital problems, parenting, fear, grief, and loss.
  • Work closely with military branch Points of Contact (POCs) to assure program delivery within the scope of the contract and meet installation needs.
  • Provide support during regular coverage gaps or surge needs for Mission Ready Reserve (MRR) positions.
