About The Position

Venesco, LLC is seeking independently licensed counselors to serve as Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC) to support military members and families at/around Whiteman AFB, MO. There are openings for school-based counselors, which follow a school calendar with the option for summer camp. The role involves helping members and families cope with the complex stresses of military life, including deployment, frequent relocations, isolation, children coping with a parent's absence, child education, and spousal employment. The MFLC counselor is an independently licensed mental health professional who provides non-medical counseling, coaching, training, and education. Non-medical counseling addresses living conditions, life skills, relationships, stress management, adjustment issues, marital problems, parenting, fear, grief, and loss. School counselors and Child Development Center Counselors are assigned to DoDEA schools, military childcare centers, and local community schools. Counselors for these positions should have experience working in a school setting. Additionally, Venesco is hiring for Mission Ready Reserve (MRR) Military & Family Life Counselors (MFLC), an on-call, part-time role to support military service members and their families during coverage gaps or surge needs. This role offers flexible hours and purpose-driven work.

Requirements

Master’s degree in the Behavioral Health Professions
Minimum 2 years of post-master’s supervised clinical experience
Mental Health Licensure at the Independent Practice level
Eligible license types include: LCSW/LICSW, LMFT, LPC, LCPC, and LMHC.
School Counselors must demonstrate past experience working in a school setting or other Child/Youth Services setting.
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must be able to obtain a NACI level government security clearance

Prior military service/military family member and/or strong familiarity with the military culture

Responsibilities

Provide non-medical counseling, coaching, training, and education to military service members and their families.
Address issues such as living conditions, life skills, relationships, stress management, adjustment issues, marital problems, parenting, fear, grief, and loss.
Support military members and families with the complex stresses of military life, including deployment, frequent relocations, isolation, children coping with a parent's absence, child education, and spousal employment.
Work closely with military branch Points of Contact (POCs) to ensure program delivery is within the scope of the contract and meets installation needs (for CYB counselors).
Provide support during coverage gaps or surge needs (for MRR MFLC).
