About The Position

Brentwood Hospital is seeking a Milieu Manager to help provide a safe, nurturing environment for individuals and families receiving mental health care and support continued improvement after treatment. The role ensures that active treatment and proactive milieu structure are maintained throughout the hospital. Milieu management encompasses program content and philosophy, patient-management training, environmental management, and staff competency.

The position provides ongoing supervision, safety oversight, crisis management, and therapeutic interventions, and supports the safe delivery of care to promote the wellness of patients, residents, or students. Work hours are determined by the Chief Nursing Officer according to facility needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field, or two years of college and commensurate experience.
• At least five years of experience working with a psychiatric patient population.
• At least three years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee milieu activities on all units to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Make purposeful daily rounds on all units to support open communication and ensure mental health technicians are performing as expected.
• Provide continual supervision, safety oversight, crisis management, and therapeutic interventions.
• Assist with implementing program structure and the safe delivery of care to promote individual patient, resident, or student wellness.
• Coach and train mental health specialists as needed.
